Forestry and Natural Resources Extension Service in Clackamas County sets field workshop in Molalla

The Extension Forestry and Natural Resources program in Clackamas County is offering a field workshop covering the basic steps of tree planting, including site preparation, seed sources, nursery availability, tree seedling types, seedling care, planting, and maintenance.

The workshop is open to the public and will take place Saturday, Feb. 15, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Ramsdell Forest in Molalla.

Participants will learn about different types of planting tools, proper seedling handling and storage, planting techniques, and protection from animal damage.

A variety of tools and seedling stock types and species will be provided for practice. Dress for a field day (rain or shine) with proper boots.

Cost is $10.
