Herald staffers talk about the dispute between the Sheriff and Commissioners, a potential $75 million bond and more

This week's Canby Vibe featured a look at the ongoing brouhaha between the Clackamas County Sheriff and two members of the Clackamas County Commission.

Herald reporter Kristen Wohlers has posted one story on the argument over finances and is working on at least one other. She offered her take on what the situation boils down to. Herald staffers John Baker, Carol Rosen and Derek Wiley offered their thoughts on the tumult that has gone very public in the last week.

Also on Wohlers's plate this week is a look at a school bond the Canby School District could finalize by the end of the month so it can appear on the May primary ballot. The proposed $75 million bond includes a tidy sum of grant money that the district would get if the bond is passed in May. Wohlers explained some of the logistics and what the money, if approved, could go for. Staff weighed in with questions and comments about the bond and its impact.

Editor John Baker also noted that the Friends of the Canby Public Library are looking to increase their visibility within the community and to that end they've done some rebranding of longtime library programs, including a big change in the Music in the Stacks program.
