Many sit-down restaurants in Canby have closed their doors since Governor Kate Brown's executive order on March 17 that no food or drink can be consumed on restaurant premises during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, several are still open and are now depending on takeout orders to survive.
As local resident Chris Bangs said, "The more people in town get takeout at these local restaurants, the more local people will still be getting paychecks."
So, we called around, and drove around, to see who's still operating. Note that most have adjusted their hours. A good rule of thumb is to make sure you get your dinner order in before 8 p.m.
Here's the list we came up with.
