Clackamas County paramedics, EMTs get free lunch
American Medical Response's Clackamas County paramedics received a surprise donation of an authentic Mexican lunch this week.
Don Pepe's, a restaurant in Oregon City known for its fresh, traditional recipes, made the donation on Thursday, April 16, through the generousity of Arch Mortgage Insurance Co. and its clients.
In busy times, such as the current COVID-19 crisis, most ambulance personnel are on the road for most of their 12-hour shifts. So they generally end up eating sandwiches, drive-thru meals or leftovers.
"We received an extremely generous meal donation," said Operations Manager Jason Mahle. "AMR has about 65 paramedics and EMTs on duty today in Clackamas County who will be very happy. We will rotate the crews through operations during the rest of the afternoon and evening so they can all enjoy the fresh food. I want to thank Arch Mortgage for their generosity and kindness."
