Molalla holds a unique July 4 parade, though the action is a bit different than the traditional parade

The streets of Molalla had a festive atmosphere Saturday morning.

Despite most of the July 4 activities around the valley being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a small group of Molalla residents decided to adapt to the times.

The result was a Fourth of July parade Saturday snaking its way through the city. The truck and car parade kicked off about 10 a.m. at Molalla High School and took a long trek through most of the city to celebrate the holiday.

Roughly 65 cars and trucks joined the parade, bringing a little July 4 normalcy to a time that's anything but normal.
