Deadline to sign up in Nov. 30; voting on favorite snowmen by community will run from Dec. 14 through Jan. 1

It is back. The third annual Snowman Contest returns to Canby's downtown, with three winners to be determined by community vote.

The event, which features specialized snowmen, is open to all organizations, businesses and clubs. The snowmen will be on display downtown during December. Deadline to enter is Nov. 30, which voting open from Dec. 14 through Jan. 1.

Here's a few things to know about the contest:

- Snowman may be made of any materials the contestant chooses.

-They snowmen will be displayed outdoors, so entries should be designed to withstand winter weather.

-All entries must be designed so that they will stand upright and supplied with materials necessary to display them in an upright manner.

- All snowmen must be absent of adult or political themes.

-All snowmen will be displayed in downtown Canby attacked to a tree or light pole.

-Display location will be pre-determined. Those wishing to display their snowman in front of their business should indicate so on the form.
