Canby's primary north-south thoroughfare under construction for sewer main replacement through mid-January

GOOGLE SATELLITE IMAGE - Those looking to travel along South Ivy Street will see delays through mid-January as the sewer main is replaced along the thoroughfare.

If you frequently drive South Ivy Street in Canby, plan some extra time for the drive over the next couple of months.

Canby's Public Works department is using a contractor to replace the sewer main on South Ivy Street. Construction began Nov. 12 and continues through Jan. 11.

During that timeframe, the road will be closed at different times throughout the day, and only local traffic will be allowed.

Expect delays, and use detour routes along 99E/Southeast 2nd Street, South Pine, Southeast 13th Avenue and South Elm Street.

According to the construction schedule, sewer installation will take place through Dec. 23. Then curb installation, concrete surfacing, asphalt paving and cleanup will take place from Dec. 28 through Jan. 11.

The schedule is subject to change, however, due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Those with questions or concerns may contact Public Works at 503-266-0798.
