Cars rolled through the parking lot at the Canby fairgrounds Thursday with bags and boxes of paper ready to be shredded

They came in droves and left feeling that sensitive papers were safely disposed of.

That, in a nutshell, is the vibe during the annual Shred-it Day at the fairgrounds, which occurred this year on April 22.

Once again, Kahut Waste Services was on hand to make sure sensitive papers were shredded into safety. Webber Consulting was on hand to wipe computer hard drives clean. The Canby Police offered a service to safely dispose of old prescriptions, and the Canby Lions were ready, willing and able to collect old ey glasses, cell phones and hearing aids.

Each year tons of paper is shredded during the event.
