Starting Monday, Oct. 4, folks can catch the CAT bus for free with stops around town

PMG FILE PHOTO - The Canby Area Transit is now offering the Canby Loop, a local circular bus route running 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.The Canby Area Transit is now offering "the Canby Loop," an in-town route that launched Monday, Oct. 4, according to a news release from the city of Canby.

The route runs from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, with stops at the Canby Transit Center, Maple Street Park, the Canby Aquatic Center and more.

The loop is free for Canby residents, thanks to support from Canby area businesses and local residents.

CAT staff worked diligently with the city of Canby's traffic safety committee to design the local circular route and schedule. The loop's 32 stops through Canby utilizes existing bus stops and additional locations throughout the community.

The Canby Loop will not operate on weekends or the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas.
