Career fair set for CCC Oregon City campus

Clackamas Community College and WorkSource Oregon will hold a free career fair on May 24 at the CCC Oregon City campus. The fair will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Gregory Forum.

Gem and rock show set for Canby fairgrounds

The Clackamette Mineral & Gem Club will hold its Gem & Rock Show May 28-29 at the Clackamas County Event Center in Canby.

The show runs 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The show features free admission and free parking, as well as demonstrations and free door prizes.

There are vendors, a kids korner, displays, a free fluorescent show and more.

Canby Farmers Market is off and running

Canby Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on NW Second and Holly Streets in downtown Canby.

The weekly event offers food vendors, craftspeople, music and more.

Book group meets monthly at Canby Library

The Canby Public Library book group meets the third Thursday each month at 2 p.m. through June. May's meeting will be May 19 at the library.

The book to be discussed in May is "The Pioneers: the heroic story of the settlers who brought the American Ideal West," by David McCullough.

June's book will be "The Woman Who Smashed Codes: a true story of love, spies, and the unlikely heroine who outwitted America's enemies," by J. Fagone.

Annual District 63 bingo fundraiser slated for June

The District 63 firefighters will hold its annual bingo event on Saturday, June 25, at the Donald Fire Station. Proceeds will go to the Wayne Yoder Memorial Scholarship Fund and community events.

Dinner will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. There will be a raffle, door prizes and cash for bingo winners. Pie and ice cream will be served throughout the night for $4.

Cost is 50 cents per card per game with an additional 50 cents for each extra card.

Oregon Renaissance Faire coming back to Canby

The Oregon Renaissance Faire returns to the Clackamas County Event Center in Canby for two weekends — June 4-5 and 11-12.

Experience the Vale of Dunrose with an imaginative and interactive adventure modeled after elements of the Renaissance era. There will crafts, entertainment, artisans and more within the faire.
