The library will host activities for people of all ages to encourage reading throughout the summer.
With summer fast approaching, the Canby Public Library is planning reading activities for all ages. This year's motto, "Read Beyond the Beaten Path," will give everyone a chance to explore a wide variety of reading options.
Young readers and those who are being read to (birth to fifth grade) will get a free book just for signing up. Those who complete the reading challenge will receive an additional prize and be entered into a raffle drawing. Weekly activity kits will be available beginning June 10 while supplies last. Teen readers (grades 6-12) also will receive a free book for signing up and another prize for completing the challenge. Special activities are planned for teen readers throughout the summer. Adults can join the summer reading activity by picking up a bingo card filled with fun reading challenges. Participants will be entered into a drawing for gift cards to local merchants.
Starting June 1, interested readers may stop by the library to pick up a reading log or bingo card. For more information, visit the library or canbyoregon.gov/library.
Funding for Summer Reading is provided by Oregon Ready to Read Grant and Canby Friends of the Library.
