Letter to Canby Herald Editor John Baker from the week beginning May 22

In spite of the rain, the 2017 Letter Carrier Food Drive held on May 13 was a great success.

Special thanks to Irene Breshears and the Canby letter carriers for collecting over 8,383 pounds of food and delivering it directly to the St. Patrick's Church food pantry. In addition, thanks to the elders from the LDS Church for their assistance, and the Canby Rotary for providing more than 30 volunteers to sort the food. STOCK IMAGE - Pamplin Media Group

The food bank was founded in 1990, serves more than 200 families each Wednesday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. and appreciates the generosity of this community. Our St. Vincent de Paul Volunteers work tirelessly every week to help provide food to our neighbors in need.

Thanks to all who participated.
