After my recent visit to TMK Creamery, I'm considering becoming a vegetarian...or maybe just no more veal?

Carol Rosen, Canby Herald staffI'm a city girl, born and raised. I've only spent a few years in a small town during college. In fact, one of my journalism assignments was to take pictures of Charolaise cattle for the University newspaper. I proudly took out a camera making sure I had a flash so that I could get a good photo of the animal's black body. I didn't know Charolaise were stark white.

So I was quite surprised when I visited the TMK Creamery and started meeting the cows and Cowlebrities. First off, these are very large animals, some were even taller than my 5'3" status. The other thing was they were just as curious as me. Looking at me and kind of forcing their heads for getting petted.

But the oddest thing was their tongue. They all have giraffe tongues, long silver curled tongues that capture your hand. They also didn't seem to have any teeth. Actually, Marc Koch noted that they have back molars in which to chew up grass and hay as well as their cud.

And, they were so cute and with such gorgeous eyes. I've almost decided to become a vegetarian, well maybe just no more veal?
