Vote 'yes' on Aurora Fire levy and for Hartley
To the editor:
The May election is an important turning point for the Aurora Fire District. I urge voters to support the Five Year local option Levy 24-438.
Another very important choice is for Aurora Fire Board directors. Volunteer board members make policy for the fire district, approve annual budgets, hire the chief and generally keep the life-safety services ready to meet district needs.
It should not be a popularity contest of who is best liked by the volunteer firefighters, but rather a serious role to represent the interests of district taxpayers and provide cost-effective life safety services.
Fred Hartley, former Donald city councilor, planning commissioner and budget committee member, brings superb financial and policy management skills to the Aurora Fire Board, position number 4.
I urge Aurora Fire District voters to vote 'yes' on the Fire Operating Levy, and for Fred Hartley for a positive change on the district fire board.
Vote 'yes' on Aurora Fire levy and Marc Anderson
To the editor:
The firefighters of Aurora Fire District ask you, the voters, to support us in serving you, our families and overall community.
Please vote 'yes' for the Aurora Rural Fire Protection levy that will maintain our current and growing EMT/firefighter status, along with voting for Marc Anderson.
We endorse Marc Anderson for his years of proven experience under his positoin as director of the Aurora Fire Board and his number of years as board president.
We truly must vote for local leaders like Marc to continue to make emergency services a priority and to provide the best possible services to all of the 'residents' of Aurora Fire District.
Again, please vote 'yes' on Measure 24-438, which offers the option of keeping us safe for a solid 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Hartley would bring valuable experience to Aurora Fire Board
To the editor:
I am writing this letter on behalf of Fred Hartley, who is running for Position #4 on the Aurora Fire District Board. As the former mayor of the City of Donald, I had the privilege of serving our city for four years in that capacity. Fred Hartley also served on the city council during this time.
I found Fred to be a strong advocate for our city, always in support of the decisions that reflected growth and prosperity for the citizens of Donald. His experience on the council along with the planning commission, budget committee, and Donald Hazelnut Festival committee, spoke volumes to me about what he is capable of doing if elected to the Aurora Fire Board.
I therefore offer my total support for the election of Fred for this position.
Also, let's not forget to vote "yes" on Measure 24-438 to help keep our Fire District moving forward and keeping the communities of Aurora and Donald safe.
Please join me – cast your vote for Fred Hartley on May 21.
Former mayor, Donald
