Padden a good choice for Canby Council seat
To the editor:There are several candidates running for Canby City Council and one stands out for consideration. As a former Canby mayor (1/2003 – 1/2011), I worked closely with Jason Padden during his time as Canby City Councilor and Urban Renewal board member. He worked to accomplish many community goals, among them securing street maintenance funding and attracting businesses to the Pioneer Industrial Park and downtown areas. Equally important were his support of maintaining funding for Canby's library, parks and public safety programs. Jason has continued his advocacy for city programs and services the last seven years on the Canby Budget Committee, both as member and chairperson. He is also an active and longtime member of the Canby Lions Club and Methodist Church. Jason has a track record of service, experience and commitment in the community. He has demonstrated the ability to work as a bipartisan team and to use our tax dollars wisely. This is a person who will hit the ground running to serve Canby citizens and businesses. Please join me in supporting a truly qualified person of integrity and character, and vote Jason Padden for Canby City Council.Melody ThompsonCanby
This trio deserves your city council votes
To the editor:Citizens of Canby, we have three extremely capable candidates for city council on our ballots. They are Sarah Spoon, Jason Padden, and Christopher Bangs. These three are committed to improving livability in our community for young and old alike. They bring experience, diligence and most of all, a love of our small city. When you sit down to vote, remember Spoon, Padden and Bangs.Richard TemplemanCanby
