Spoon a good choice to Canby Council
To the editor:
I'm writing to endorse Sarah Spoon for Canby City Council. Sarah is Canby High School graduate who knows our community. As a parent of Canby students, she understands the importance of our schools and Sarah knows the importance of balancing the needs of business and taxpayers with the needs of our public services.
As a local business owner herself, she understands the importance of our locally owned businesses. Sarah was one of the few Council members who alerted the public to the loss of revenue our fire district would experience when a large corporation located here without doing their due diligence and completing the proper paperwork.
During her term on the council, she has been accessible to everyone and is a good listener who is willing to meet with and talk to anyone. She does not shy away from problems but confronts them head on with enthusiasm and willingness to solve them in a way that benefits all Canby citizens.
Sarah has the experience that we need to get our businesses back on the road to recovery from the pandemic while looking out for the health and safety of our citizens.
Please vote Sarah Spoon for City Council.
Spoon understands Canby citizen's values & hopes
To the editor:
I was born in Canby, grew up here and went to Canby schools. My husband and I (high school sweethearts) left Canby to attend college but when our first child was born we decided to move back to Canby where we cherished the feel of the small close knit community of our childhood.
We continued to raise our three children in the same environment that we grew up in. I say this because this is exactly what Sarah Spoon, running for re-election for city council, did. She was raised here, moved away for college and chose to come back to raise her family.
There is something special about stories like this. It is someone that has seen Canby through a child's eye, a teen's eye and a parent's eye.
I fully support Sarah Spoon's re-election to Canby City Council because she values and sees every citizen of Canby. She listens with an open heart, asks questions so she can better understand and will turn around and fight for you.
To me, this is why I came back to raise my family. It encompasses that small town feel and the way politics should be in our community.
