Arnold Lane: Will Clackamas County chair-elect personally pay for her guests' COVID health/funeral costs?

RArnold Laneegarding Tootie Smith's celebration of Thanksgiving: I am sure you want to make a statement concerning your right to assemble with your family and friends on Thanksgiving, knowingly in defiance of Oregon state and CDC guidelines.

I would also assume you personally will want to take moral and financial responsibility for any attendees who contract COVID-19. That would make a definite statement of your right to choose this action and also take responsibility for your decision.

So if you choose to ignore these guidelines and someone gets COVID as result of this gathering, will you personally pay for their associated health costs to recover from this illness? If, God forbid, someone dies as a result of this gathering, you should immediately resign as Clackamas County chair-elect, pay for their funeral expenses, pay any associated fines and serve your jail time.

You have rights, but with those rights come responsibilities and consequences. We elected you to serve the people of Clackamas County, to lead, to follow the law and show good judgment.
