Thanks offered for dinner support
To the editor:
On behalf of Canby KC Charities, I would like to thank the Canby community and all those who helped support our "drive-thru" charity crab dinner.
We were happy to be able to keep this event going for our community even with the new look this year and hope to be back in the main pavilion next year. We thank all the local businesses who helped make this event happen.
An additional thanks to all the Knights of Columbus members and their families who helped make it a great event.
There was an incredible outpouring of support for the family who had lost their home during the devastating wildfires last summer and the charities that the Knights support.
As always, the Canby community has shown how they care about those in need through the support of the Knights of Columbus.
Thank you from all of us.
Photo caption was a bit misleading
To the editor:
Regarding the 2/17/21 article of 'Oregon self serve gas & survey.'
The caption under its picture of two men fueling pickups was incorrect and misleading. "People pump their own gas at Fred Meyer in Wilsonville."
One of the men in the picture is my husband who drives a Chevy diesel pickup. That's what he and the other man were doing, legally fueling their diesel pickups.
Your caption implies they were illegally pumping their own gas. Your representative could have checked his information more carefully before assuming falsely 'self serve' now at FM Wilsonville.
I have spoken to Wilsonville Fred Meyer station manager.
