Reader Letter: Buchal opinion filled with lies
Buchal opinion filled with lies, untruths
I was dismayed to read the March 10 opinion of James Buchal, former Multnomah County GOP chair.
I could understand a wide range of opinions based on facts, but an article based on easily proven untruths is wrong to appear in a newspaper.
To deem the Jan. 6 riot, of which many videos are available to review, as an "overblown media frenzy" is an unfactual statement or alternate truth, also known as a lie.
To state our presidential election was "not a free and fair election" is a lie. To minimize the violence, loss of life, and suffering of the brave Capitol police is an unconscionable lie.
Please lead with truth. I wonder how anyone can follow a leader that must use lies to gather support for a party's platform. This opinion piece tries to further divide our community.
I subscribe and read the Canby Herald to support and learn about the community of Canby, which I love and admire. It was sad to see the choice of this newspaper to publish an editorial that seeks to spread lies and hate.
