Vissers best candidate for Canby School Board
I am proud to support Shelley Vissers for Canby School District Director, Position 7.
My experience as a Canby High teacher and 13-year Canby School Board member has given me insight into the inner workings and needs of our district.
I believe Vissers will bring a passion for educating our children and a commitment to the patrons of our district that is needed in these difficult times.
I have no doubt that Vissers will continue to volunteer countless hours inside and outside the classroom that will provide a fresh perspective to the board.
Please join me in voting for Shelley Vissers for Canby School District Director, Position 7.
Zagyva worthy of reelection to school Board
I wish to personally voice the opportunity for the voters of the upcoming election of our Canby School Board to consider Mike Zagyva for Position 4.
As a retired educator, I had the privilege of working as a third-grade teacher when Mike Zagyva was assigned as principal of Eccles School. By this time, he already had worn numerous hats as a classroom teacher, union president, coach, assistant principal, vice principal, principal and parent.
He continued to build on his experiences serving as administrator throughout all levels of the elementary school district. In each of those positions he positively impacted teachers, students and parents alike. One could always count on Mike if expectations were not being met.
He would be there, listen, ask questions and work through solutions and evaluate results.
It is rare to have a gifted board member who has all the experiences of all facets of a school district, as well as community involvement, for so many years.
Voters, please do not let this opportunity slip out of our hands. Vote to reelect Mike Zagyva for another term for Position 4.

Zagyva has the right perspective for school board
To the editor:
The artist Vincent Van Gogh said that what makes a fine painting is "perspective."
That same quality is needed to attack the problems that will continue to face our Canby public school system. As a candidate for school board member, Mike Zagyva brings that needed perspective.
For years Mike has served his country and community as a military officer. He has been a successful teacher and administrator in the school district. Mike's children have gone through the school system and his grandchildren are currently in Canby schools.
Add to all this his years of service as a school board member and his perspective is clear. Canby schools will face many challenges in the coming years, and it is important that our school board has the proper experience, expertise, and perspective to face those challenges.
Mike Zagyva is well qualified to serve the Canby community on the School Board.

Zagyva's support of all students is vital
To the editor
We would like to recommend Mike Zagyva for re-election to the Canby School Board.
We have known Mike for 30 years. First, when he was principal of Ackerman School, where our children attended. We appreciated Mike's sincere interest in supporting all students. Recently, we have worked with Mike on a shared interest of improving Canby community parks.
Mike's life work has been the pursuit of high quality education for all of the students of the Canby school district. He has a wealth of experience in education which includes, designing curriculum to improve student achievement, working with district staff, and making school budgets.
As we return from learning under Covid-19 restrictions we need experienced, knowledgeable, and caring adults on our school board. The school board is not the place for playing politics and attempting to place personal biases on our public educational system.
Mike Zagyva's record of working to provide the best education for all Canby students is well known in our community.
Please join us in supporting Mike Zagyva for re-election to the Canby School Board. We believe Mike is well qualified to continue serving our community.
