Tuesday, Aug. 1
11 a.m., employee of Union Pacific Railroad turned in a Trek 4500 silver bike with black and red writing to police after finding it in blackberry bushes near the railroad tracks.
11:02 a.m., an out-of-state suspect purchased a cell phone from an ad posted on Craig's List by the victim. Suspect paid using bogus PayPal account and the name of deceased female with a South Carolina address. South Carolina police checked the destination shipping address of the item and found a vacant house. Investigators note suspects can track the package and pick it up before detection, which is a common tactic and scam.
Wednesday, Aug. 2
3:39 p.m., citizen turns in a flag found rolled up around a flag pole in a ditch along S. Highway 99E/S. Tull Road. No owner information, so the item was lodged in property/evidence.
5:13 p.m., Steven M. Higgs, Jr., of Portland was issued a misdemeanor criminal citation for giving false information about insurance, and driving uninsured. His vehicle was towed from S. Barlow Road/W. Second Street.
5:07 p.m., citizen complaint that an illegally parked car at Canby Community Park is preventing the setup of an event planned at the location and asked officers to locate the owner for its removal.
7:21 p.m., Melissa A. Murison, age 32, of Molalla, was issued a misdemeanor criminal citation for harassment, NE 16h Avenue.
Thursday, Aug. 3
9:25 a.m., vehicle towed, driver cited for speeding, driving while suspended and the vehicle impounded because it was parked in the no parking zone.
1:30 p.m., unknown person caused damaget to a vehicle parked at the victim's place of work, NW Second Avenue, while he was away making a delivery. He suspects a co-worker, but no evidence was found.
2:13 p.m., minor injury traffic crash involving two vehicles, SE First Avenue/S. Pine Street, no citations issued.
3:50 p.m.Craig L. Pulse, age 57, of Canby, was arrested for probation viiolation during a traffic stop, South End Road.
8:44 p.m., report of a stolen blue 2014 Toyota XD taken sometime between 11 p.m. on Aug. 2 and noon on Aug. 3 from S. Knott Street. Vehicle later recovered that day by Portland police. Suspect identified and investigation continues.
9:03 p.m., juvenile cited for possession and consumpion (MIP) of marijuana, after family members became concerned and contacted police, SE Township Road.
Friday, Aug. 4
2:54 a.m., Cesar Sarabia-Torralbga, age 23, of Woodburn, arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended, S. Highway 99E.
10:17 a.m., two abandoned vehicles in violation of the city ordinance were tagged for tow, S. Manzanita Court and S. Pine Street.
10:54 a.m., unknown suspect stole a blue and white Diamondback men's mountain bike from a residential backyard, NW 10th Avenue.
9:28 p.m., officers dispatched for a welfare check, S. Pine Street.
Saturday, Aug. 5
2:41 a.m., officers responding to an audible alarm at a business noticed two middle school aged juveniles walking along the road. The youths were out well after curfew, so they were given a ride to a parent's home by an officer.
2:49 p.m., five gallons of gas siphoned out of a vehicle on two separate occasions over the past few days, NE 14th Avenue.
9:21 p.m. officers responded to welfare check and family disturbance, SE Third Avenue.
Sunday, Aug. 6
3:49 p.m., Jennifer L. Niles, age 36, of Portland, was arrested on a Clackamas County Circuit Court parole violation warrant, S. Redwood Street.
5:16 p.m., Joseph P. Greenwald Jr., age 41, of Canby, was arrested for misdemeanor physical harassment, S. Walnut Street.
5:55 p.m., resident told dispatch that he saw a male subject inside a parked vehicle exposing himself and when he approached the car, it left the area of S. Locust Street. Officers conducted a search, no suspects at this time.
Monday, Aug. 7
11:31 a.m., abandoned vehicle in violation of the city ordinance was tagged for tow, N. Pine Street.
11:30 a.m., a battered cell phone found near an elementary school was turned in to policie property/evidence.
6:19 p.m., dispatch warned officers of a possible DUII vehicle currently being followed by the reporting party who stated the suspect was blowing through stop signs and allegedly traveling at 90 mph. Officers caught up to the suspect as he came through Canby and initiated a pursuit down Highway 99E and were joined by officers from Oregon City, Oregon State Police troopers, and Clackamas County deputies. Ronald J. Desemple, age 59, of Milwaukie, was eventually stopped, arrested and charged with felonies: two counts of eluding a police officer, reckless driving and reckless endangering.
