Canby junior Mairen Chard made her case for the state meet. After strong showings throughout the various meets of the season, Chard swam well enough to be making the trip to the Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center on Friday, Feb. 15.

Chard qualified in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke with her performances at the Three Rivers League district meet at Mt. Hood Aquatic Center on Thursday, Feb. 7 and Saturday, Feb. 9.

In the 100-yard butterfly Chard took fourth place with a time of 1:00.42 which seeds her 14th for the prelims. In the 100-yard backstroke, she took sixth place with a time of 1:00.66, which seeds her 16th for that particular event.
