For fifth through 12th graders, the camp is designed to develop the skills of both inexperienced and experienced players

Canby High School is hosting its Cougar volleyball camp August 12-15.

For fifth through 12th graders, the camp is designed to develop the skills of both inexperienced and experienced players to prepare them for a possible future in volleyball at the high school level.

The camp is also meant to instill a love of the game and teach the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Skills taught by Canby volleyball coach T.J. Schlatter and her staff include passing, setting, serving and hitting along with more advanced concepts of team play and strategy.

Fifth through eighth graders, who will be introduced to volleyball, learn fundamentals and play games, meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Cost is $70 per camper and includes a t-shirt.

Ninth through 12th graders, preparing for tryouts, meet from 1 to 4 p.m.

Cost is $80 per camper and includes a t-shirt.
