Sports Reporter Derek Wiley doesn't want you to forget the soccer game tonight in Ellie Shorter's honor and surprises everyone with the possibility that the football team has a shot at the playoffs

In this third episode of Canby Vibe Sports Talk, Sports Reporter Derek Wiley leads a discussion on Canby's high school sports including cross country, volleyball, soccer and football.

When Wiley went to cover Canby's cross country team this week, the bad news is he showed up at the wrong place as he hadn't been notified of the location change. The good news is he found the team and the boys team came out on top at the meet.

Wiley also said the volleyball team won both their games this week and noted that the much-anticipated girls soccer game to support junior Ellie Shorter, diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, happens tonight at home at 7 p.m. Grab your #EllieStrong gear or whatever purple you have, and come out to support Ellie and the team.

To everyone's surprise, Wiley pointed out that the Canby football team, with a current record of 0-6, still has a shot at making the playoffs. Because of the difficulty of the team's schedule, they're currently ranked 36th in the state, and 32 teams make the playoffs. So if Canby can pull away with a couple of wins this season, potentially versus Roseburg or Oregon City, then they just might have a postseason to talk about.
