Ruby Kayser and Daley McClellan join the podcast this week to talk about their first-round playoff win



This week's Canby Vibe Sports Talk podcast featured a pair a special guests, Canby High volleyball players Ruby Kayser and Daley McClellan.

The Cougar volleyballers enjoyed quite the week with a first round three-set playoff sweep of Grant High on Wednesday night in front of the Cougar faithful. Next up is a showdown at Sprague High School on Saturday with the winner punching their ticket to the Class 6A State Tournament at Liberty High School next week.

Kayser and McClellan discussed the years they've played volleyball together, the mindset they and the team have had during the year and in their playoff game, as well as some behind-the-scenes looks at what has gone into this year's successes. Sports Editor Derek Wiley shared his observations of the team this season, how much he's enjoyed covering the Cougar volleyball squad, and his interaction with Kayser and McClellan.

But the volleyball team wasn't the only highlight of the week. Wiley and the Canby Herald staff discussed the football team's first victory in two-plus years, and the reaction that has created, as well as the unexpected success of the CHS cross country team, that will send nine representatives to the state cross country championships Nov. 9 at Lane Community College.
