Canby battles West Linn to the wire in loss, comes back for nice win over Lake Oswego on Friday night

The Canby High volleyball team had a mixed week, dropping a hard-fought five-game match to West Linn Tuesday, then snagging a 3-1 victory over Lake Oswego on Friday.

Against West Linn, the Cougars just kept clawing against a team that physically was a little better on the court.

"We were very outmatched physically, but played together so well as a team that the match was close," said head coach Terri Jo Schlatter. "We were in the lead in the fourth set and let it slip away at the end, but I was very proud of the effort."
