After two losses to Lakeridge, Canby battles Lake Oswego in nine-inning pitching dual before falling 1-0

The Canby High baseball team dropped a trio of games last week – a pair to Lakeridge and one to Lake Oswego – leaving its league mark at 3-6 on the season.

On Monday, the Cougars fell by a 5-3 count to the Pacers. Kellan Oakes had a solid day at the plate with a pair of hits.

On Wednesday, Canby's offense was stifled in a 4-0 loss to Lakeridge again. Coach JJ Stolsig said that "Joey Gartrell was solid on the mound."

Canby finished off the week with a hard-fought 1-0 loss on Friday to Lake Oswego in nine innings. Casey Langdale had a double and Theo Netter added a pair of hits, but the Cougars just couldn't get a run across the plate.

"The pitching of Kellan Oakes, Alex Evans, and Joe Brauckmiller were bright spots," Stolsig said.
