The Cougars swam their way to boys and girls wins over Lakeridge and Tualatin in league swimming action

Though swimming a bit short-handed, the Canby High swim team won both ends of a dual meet with Lakeridge on June 1.

Swimming with just eight girls and seven boys, the Cougar girls won 92-52, while the boys chalked up a 77-57 win. And while winning is nice on a hot day, coach Eric Laitinen has other goals.

"Again, this season is about getting swimmers the opportunity to participate and enjoy racing, although it's nice to win sometimes, too," Laitinen said.
