The best in the 6A ranks toed the line at Lane Community College Nov. 6, including the Canby boys team

For Canby's boys cross country team, the state meet at Lane Community College on Nov. 6 was a battle from first to last.

The Canby boys finished 20th overall with 505 points. Jesuit claimed the state title with 66 points on the afternoon.

The Canby boys cross country team finished up its season Nov. 6 a the Class 6A state meet at Lane Community College.

Tommy O'Neil led the way for the Cougars, claiming a 59th place spot with a time of 16:49.1. He was followed by Maddox Oliver in 76th spot (17:03.4), Jack Joyce in 125th (18:11.1), Joel Ibarra in 128th (18:16.0), and Rhett Smith as the final scorer in 140th with a time of 18:54.1.

Also on the course for the Cougars was Jacob Tilden in 147th place (19:12.3) and Ryan Petterson in 152nd with a time of 20:22.0.
