A single spring break softball game goes the way of the Bend Lava Bears in Monday tilt by a 6-2 score

In its only Spring Break action, the Canby High softball team dropped a 6-2 decision to Bend on March 21.

The game got away from the Cougars early and they were uanblee to mount a comeback, according to coach Ty Kraft.

Bend got its offense rolling early, scoring its first run on a stolen base, then tacked on three more runs in the fifth, courtesy of a pair of home runs. In all, Bend put four homers over the fence in this one.

Abigail Loomis got the start for Canby on the mound, said Kraft, and she put in a solid shift, allowing seven hits and six runs over six innings. She would strike out eight and not register a walk.

Ava Carroll, Brooke Herren and Natalie Just each recorded a single hit for the Cougars.
