Canby tracksters rounding into form
The Canby High track team hit the track at two separate venues on April 29, offering plenty of competition as the squad eyes the district meet in two weeks. Tommy O'Neil won the 800 and 1,500 at the Eldon Keller Invitation in Hillsboro to lead that contingent. Omar Villanueva added a pair of runner-up performances in the 100 and 200 to help the effort. At the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays, the Cougars got a pair of third place finishes. Drew Pierson snagged a third in the men's long jump, while girls freshman distance running sensation Kenzie Bigej took the bronze in the 1,500 meters. The Three Rivers League district meet will be May 11 and 13 at Oregon City.
