High school will be represented in the baseball series and the Les Schwab Bowl this summer.

Canby represented at baseball all-star series

The 2022 Oregon All-Star Series, which features the top 6A and 5A baseball players in the state, will have a Canby flavor to it.

The Cougars, coming off a second-place finish in the state tournament, will have infielder Kellen Oakes on the roster, as well as coach JJ Stolsig, who will co-coach the north team with West Linn's Joe Monahan.

The two-game series will be played at Oregon State's Goss Stadium June 18-19. The June 18 game is at 3 p.m., June 19 at 11 a.m. and both will be nine inning games.

Cougar quarterback to play in Les Schwab Bowl

The Canby High football team will be represented at this year's Les Schwab Bowl, which will be played at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Linfield University.

Quarterback Mikey Gibson will play for Team Willamette.

In the fall, Gibson will head to Western Oregon University to continue his football career. He also was named male athlete of the year at Canby High School this year.

Tailgating begins at 2 p.m. with Golden Valley Brewing, Stoller Family Wine and a variety of food trucks.

Loomis to appear in all-star softball series

Canby High pitcher/second baseman Abigail Loomis will be part of the 6A Senior All-Star Series.

The double-header will be played June 16 at Hillsboro Stadium field No. 4. Game time is 5 p.m. with the second game slated for 20 minutes after the first game finishes.

The game will also be live-streamed on Twitch at twitch.tv/whssoftball1.
