Cougars baseball team does well in Three Rivers League postseason honors; softball squad gets accolades

Canby's run to the 6A baseball state championship game was one for the books. The Cougars, the No. 14 seed, were the Cinderella story of the tournament before falling to fellow Three Rivers League team West Linn in the title game.

The Cougars got some postseason accolades as well with the release of the Three Rivers League all-league selections.

Joe Brauckmiller earned first-team honors as both a pitcher and outfielder. He was the only Cougar on the first team as state champion West Linn and league champion Lakeridge dominated the selections.

Second-team honors went to Kellan Oaks and Theo Netter as infielders while Kellan Oakes and Jason Noffsinger were honorable mention as pitchers, and Bryce Oliver at catcher.

Canby softball squad earns all-league honors

The Canby High softball team saw some individual accolades come their way after a 15-11 campaign, which included a state playoff game.

McKenna Kraft and Natatlie Just earned first-team honors as infielders. Second-team honors went to Abigail Loomis (pitcher) and Ella Kiehl (catcher).
