The staff talks about the girls basketball team's big win over then third-ranked Mountainside

In this week's episode of Canby Vibe Sports Talk, Derek Wiley offered some thoughts on the Canby High girls basketball team getting a huge win over third-ranked Mountainside earlier in the week.

The Cougars were down 20-5 when Mountainside's center, who is committed to Stanford, went to the bench with two fouls. From there, the comeback commenced, resulting in a big early-season win for Canby.

Wiley, along with The Herald staff, also talked boys basketball, wrestling, and swimming, as the winter sports seasons are now in full glory.

As an aside, Wiley and Editor John Baker talked about an OregonLive 'way too early' Class 5A football ranking that was rolled out this week, which pegged Canby as the No. 3 team in the state. The staff talked about the pressure and issues of expectations with Canby moving down to Class 5A for two seasons, and how ridiculous that kind of ranking is this early.
