Canby athletes sign to play at colleges, girls wrestling district meet approaches and more

This week's Canby Vibe Sports Talk podcast led off with an exciting event coming on the weekend – the district meet for girls wrestling. Canby is sending eight first-year girls to the weekend's action at Century High School in Hillsboro, all looking to land in the top four and qualify for the state meet. Sports editor Derek Wiley offered some thoughts on what's to come and the increase in girls wrestling from a year ago.

Wiley also laid out the number of letter of intent signings that occurred Wednesday at Canby High, with a myriad of athletes looking to continue their sports careers at the college level.

And with all that, some he offers thoughts about a big Canby High girls basketball win at St. Mary's, as well as the long line of district meets that will be coming in the next couple of weeks – several of which will be hosted at Canby.
