Amanda Noyes, formerly of Prineville, went missing Friday from La Pine and was found two days later

The body of a La Pine woman and prior Crook County resident who was reported missing Friday was found in Ochoco National Forest having suffered an apparent self-inflicted injury.

At about 1 p.m. Sunday, the Crook County Sheriff's Office received a call that citizens in the area of Forest Road 33 had found the body of Amanda Noyes. CCSO responded to the scene and located Noyes near her vehicle. Her next of kin has been notified.

Deschutes County Sheriff's Office first asked for public assistance locating Noyes on Friday after she was reported missing from the La Pine area. The 21-year-old had last been seen during the early morning hours that day, having sent text messages indicating she may be suffering from a mental illness.

Cell phone activity suggested Noyes had been in the Ochoco National Forest area, but authorities could not initially determine for certain if that was the case, following her disappearance.
