Prineville woman arrested for murder
A Prineville woman was arrested for murder following an investigation into a homicide in the Juniper Acres area that was discovered Thanksgiving morning.
Crook County deputies contacted 53-year-old Tina Marie Hill at her Myrtlewood Lane residence on Saturday afternoon, around 3:30 p.m. She was arrested for the murder of 51-year-old Dennis Allen Stewart, who lived at the same residence, and taken into custody without incident.
According to Crook County Undersheriff James Savage, Hill and Stewart had been involved in an "on again/off again" domestic relationship for several years. They had been living together in a small cabin on the Myrtlewood Lane property at the time of the altercation that led to Stewart's death on Nov. 23.
Deputies arrested Hill after a weeklong investigation that included assistance from several Central Oregon law enforcement agencies as well as the Crook County District Attorney's Office.
Hill was transported to Crook County Jail and lodged on charges of first-degree murder, second-degree manslaughter, reckless endangering and felon in possession of a firearm. The murder charge does not have a bail, but the other charges have a total bail of $125,000, Savage said.
Investigation of the case is still ongoing and anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Sgt. Bill Elliott or Det. Mitch Madden with the Crook County Sheriff's Office.
