Police arrest Ryan Ames Wednesday morning after a search warrant on Northwest Second Street

PRINEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT - Ryan AmesA Prineville man was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with recent thefts at a downtown-area business.

At 9 a.m. Dec. 13, members of the Prineville Police Department, assisted by the Crook County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at 304 NW Second St. in Prineville, Capt. Larry Seymour reported. The search warrant was based on a series of reported thefts that had occurred over the last few months at a local downtown area business.

During the execution of the warrant, Ryan Ames, 36, of Prineville, was taken into custody and charged with theft in the first degree, forgery in the second degree, and identity theft.

Seymour said more than 40 suspected stolen items were recovered during the service of the search warrant, along with suspected heroin and methamphetamine paraphernalia.

The vehicle belonging to Ames was seized as it had several of the stolen items installed in it, and was used in the commission of these crimes. Ames owned the vehicle, a 2004 Ford F-250, which was at the location of the search warrant when law enforcement arrived.

The total value of the recovered property is estimated at around $5,000.

Ames was transported to the Crook County Jail, where he was booked and lodged.

The police are not releasing the business name or any other information at this time as they are still conducting some follow-up on this case.
