Cause of the Sunday afternoon fire is under investigation but believed to have started in an out building

A fire claimed out buildings and trailers on a Juniper Canyon property Sunday afternoon.

According to Crook County Fire and Rescue reports, firefighters responded to reports of the blaze around 2:15 p.m. Crews arrived to find multiple fully involved out buildings and trailers. Two structure engines, one BLM wildland engine, two water tenders and an ambulance responded to the scene. The three-quarter-acre wildfire, buildings and trailers took about 30 minutes to contain.

Crews remained on scene mopping up until about 5:15 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but CCFR officials said it likely originated in one of the out buildings.
