One Post resident killed, another injured in crash
One Crook County man was killed and another seriously injured in a rollover crash early Wednesday morning.
According to Oregon State Police reports, Bend Area Command troopers responded to the scene near milepost 23 on Paulina Highway, just outside of Post, around 12:15 a.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a black 1999 Subaru Impreza, driven by 28-year-old Post resident Joshua Perman, was traveling westbound and for unknown reasons, left the roadway and rolled several times.
Both Perman and passenger Alfred Cody, 46, of Post, were ejected from the vehicle. Perman was pronounced dead at the scene, and Cody was transported by air ambulance to a St. Charles Hospital in Bend for serious injuries.
Authorities believe speed and alcohol are contributing factors in the crash, noted that Perman is believed not to be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
OSP was assisted on scene by ODOT, Crook County District Attorney's Office, Crook County Medical Examiner, emergency responders from the Prineville area of Crook County, and the Crook County Sheriff's Office.
