A call for unity
Paul in Ephesians 4 calls us to live a life worthy of our calling.
Ephesians 4:2-6 from the NIV: "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one spirit just as you were called to one hope when you were called - one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."
This summer in Central Oregon, on Friday, Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m., we have the opportunity to unite together for the cause of Christ.
The Decision America Crusade with Franklin Graham and Jeremy Camp will be held at the Life Amphitheater in Bend. The Crusade offers everyone who attends the opportunity to hear the message of the gospel of Christ, the good news of eternal life and a life worth living here and now.
It is a crusade you can invite people to that would maybe say no to coming to a church. It is a crusade that will change the hearts and lives of many who attend.
There are opportunities for all believers in Christ to help this crusade make a real impact for God.
Prayer. Pray that God's Spirit will move the hearts of those who attend and that His spirit will move people to attend. Also pray that there will be people who will mentor these new believers to help them grow and become disciple makers themselves.
Volunteers are needed is several areas. You can go to the website DecisionPacificNW.com. To find out how you can help, you can press one of four links and get the information.
There is a large need for counselors to pray with people who want to make a decision for Christ that night. In one crusade earlier this year, well over a thousand people went forward to make a decision for Christ, and they only had 200 hundred prayer counselors. They needed a lot more.
In order to be a prayer counselor, you will need to attend a three-hour training session on July 19 at 6 p.m., at Epikos Church, 222 SE Reed Market Road in Bend. You will need to register for this training at the website above.
The gospel message of the cross is something all Christians agree on. Christ is the cornerstone of the church. When we work together in unity for the cause of Christ, the possibilities are beyond our comprehension.
