Crook County deputies find suspect Christopher Turnwall after following his footprints

CROOK COUNTY JAIL - Christopher TurnwallA Prineville man was arrested in connection with a local burglary after authorities followed his footprints to his location Wednesday.

According to a Crook County Sheriff's Office report, at 7:54 a.m., deputies were dispatched to investigate a burglary at a Southeast Winchester Loop residence. A storage building was broken into, and more than $1,000 worth of residential remodeling supplies were stolen.

After processing the scene, deputies interviewed surrounding neighbors, then tracked the suspect's shoe prints to a residence down the street. There they found 32-year-old suspect Christopher A. Turnwall.

During a subsequent interview, Turnwall confessed to the burglary, and the stolen items were recovered from inside the residence. He was arrested and lodged at the Crook County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, third-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools.

The investigation is ongoing, authorities said, and additional charges are possible.
