Two men got into an altercation in the Third Street and Willowdale Drive area Saturday

A man reported being the victim of road rage and unlawful use of a weapon Saturday night in Prineville.

On Saturday, Sept. 1 at about 6:20 p.m., Prineville Police received a call of an altercation between two drivers in the area of Northeast Third Street and Willowdale Drive in Prineville.

According to a Prineville Police Department press release, the reporting party described an unidentified white male in his 50s, who was driving a white crossover style SUV. The suspect was reportedly angry at the reporting party for pulling out in front of him near Northeast Combs Flat Road and Northeast Third Street.

The reporting party said the suspect pulled up along-side of his vehicle, a white Ford F-350 pickup, as it traveled east on Northeast Third Street. Both vehicles pulled over near Northeast Willowdale, where the suspect exited his vehicle and pulled a firearm, possibly a 9mm pistol, and put the firearm against the reporting party's face. The suspect then struck the reporting party on the side of the face with the firearm, causing a cut, and left the scene.

The incident is under investigation.
