Prineville driver injured in Thursday crash
A Prineville man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Powell Butte Highway on Thursday afternoon.
Deputies from the Crook County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash, near milepost 6, around 3 p.m.
Upon arriving, they learned that a GMC pickup, driven by 61-year-old Harley Hunter, was traveling east towards Prineville when his vehicle drove off the road and hit several boulders.
The majority of the vehicle was off of Powell Butte Highway, but the pickup's rear-end was partially in the roadway. Hunter had visible injuries and complained of pain.
He was transported to St. Charles Bend for further treatment due to his injuries. His vehicle was towed due to damages. The Crook County Road Department responded to clear the road of gravel and debris due to the crash.
During the crash investigation, there were no indicators of impairment.
