Arrests made in vehicle thefts
Following ongoing investigative efforts made by Crook County Sheriff's Office and Parole and Probation deputies, a search warrant was executed in the Juniper Acres subdivision at 11 a.m. Nov. 25.
The warrant was executed by Crook County Sheriff's Office and United States Forest Service Law Enforcement on Southeast Almond Land, in the Juniper Acres subdivision south of Prineville. The warrant was in response to multiple reports of burglary and theft occurring in the Juniper Acres subdivision between Nov. 1 and Nov. 13, 2019.
The search warrant resulted in recovered stolen property belonging to residents of the subdivision. Deputies acted quickly to recover two stolen Dodge trucks, stolen mail and a firearm possessed by a felon. In the process of the warrant, deputies learned that a stolen motorcycle had been removed from the same property days prior.
Three subjects were arrested by Crook County Sheriff's office deputies, two of whom were believed to be involved in the thefts and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Deputies also identified other suspects. They are currently working to recover additional items that were taken during these incidents.
The Crook County Sheriff's Office indicated that they were appreciative of the alert members of the subdivision who provided valuable information to law enforcement in order to keep their community safe.
