Anthony Mailman is pulled over west of Prineville and vehicle search reveals meth and a gun

CROOK COUNTY JAIL - Anthony MailmanA La Grande man was arrested for drug-related crimes west of Prineville following a traffic stop.

On Sunday, May 10, at about 10 a.m., an Oregon State Police trooper pulled over a Cadillac STS driven by 35-year-old Anthony Mailman on Highway 126 near milepost 13.

Mailman was initially arrested for fail to carry and present an operator's license, giving false information to a police officer and a warrant for parole violation. Then, a drug dog alerted to the presence of controlled substances. 

During a search of the vehicle, troopers found about 5.9 ounces of suspected crystal methamphetamine, scales, and a loaded revolver concealed inside the vehicle. 

Mailman was lodged in the Crook County Jail and additionally charged with felon in possession of a firearm, and possession, distribution and manufacture of methamphetamine.

The Oregon State Police was assisted by the Crook County Sheriff's Office.
