Local man arrested for menacing, firearm possession
The Prineville Police Department was dispatched to an address on Brookfield Lane on Saturday, July 25, because of a report of a woman running down the street carrying a small child and screaming for someone to call 911.
The report came in at approximately 12:19 p.m., and the Crook County Sheriff's Office, along with the Prineville Police Department, responded to an address on Northwest Brookfield Lane.
Upon arrival, deputies located a 32-year-old woman, Jennifer Ryan, and her young daughter at an address a short distance down the road. Both parties were uninjured.
After several hours, 37-year-old Eric Babcock was taken into custody. As a result of the investigation, Babcock was charged with two counts of felon in possession of firearms, reckless endangering, menacing and first-degree criminal mischief.
Crook County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Prineville Police Department and members of the Central Oregon CERT Team.
The investigation is continuing.
