Deb Shaw will be helping the current and future members with a variety of needs

 - Deb Shaw is excited about her new job with the Chamber.

The local business community and the public will be getting acquainted with a new face and presence at the Prineville-Crook County Chamber of Commerce in the days ahead.

The chamber recently hired Deb Shaw as its membership, marketing and events coordinator. She is replacing Amanda Luelling, who recently stepped away from the position.

"I will be helping our current and future members with everything they need, which really excites me," she said. "I will be working to provide the current members with support and also helping to grow our membership base."

Shaw enters the job with a wealth of experience with the Crook County community as well as the local chamber. She was born and raised in the community and is a fourth-generation member of a local family.

"I've lived and worked in Crook County all of life and am raising children here," she said.

When it comes to her chamber background, Shaw points out that she has spent the past three years on the chamber board and added that she has enjoyed every minute of it. "I love our mission! 'The mission of the Prineville-Crook County Chamber of Commerce is to encourage a culture of business and community coming together in partnership, understanding that our success is measured by the economic vitality of our community,'" she said. "This to me trickles down and plays a role to each of us personally and our families. I hope to play a role in this very important mission."

Most recently, Shaw has served as the board's secretary.

In addition to her knowledge and connection to the community and her previous experience with the chamber, Shaw will lean on traits from previous jobs as she moves forward in the new position.

"I have an extensive support role and event planning background from former positions that will be a large benefit to my future work here at the Chamber," she said.

Kim Daniels, the chamber's executive director, said she is beyond thrilled to add Shaw to the team.

"Her skillset is impressive and will bring some exciting new opportunities to what we can offer to our members and the Prineville community," she said. "We are looking forward to the positive changes to come."

So far, Shaw is enjoying her new role at the chamber office, and she looks forward to what the job and presence in the business community holds in the future.

"I'm super excited to be here," she gushed. "I love helping people and feel blessed to not only be a part of this great organization but our great community."
