Driver lost control of truck and trailer on icy George Millican Road Friday evening and jack-knifed

 - Stanley Hilsendager sustained non-life threatening injuries following Friday night crash.

An Estacada man was injured in a crash on George Millican Road Friday evening after sliding on icy roads.

According to a Crook County Sheriff's Office report, deputies were dispatched to the crash scene near the intersection of Southwest Reservoir Road shortly after 8 p.m. Nov. 14. Initial reports to Crook County 9-1-1 indicated that a truck towing a camp trailer had crashed and was partially blocking a lane.

Deputies arrived on scene and located a 2001 Chevy Silverado that was towing a 26-foot camp trailer, being driven by 82-year-old Stanley Hilsendager. The crash investigation revealed that Hilsendager was traveling northbound on George Millican Road when he lost control of his truck and trailer on the icy roadway. His truck and trailer jackknifed, causing the camp trailer shell to completely dislodge from the trailer frame.

Hilsendager was transported by ground ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center-Prineville with non-life threatening injuries. George Millican Road north of Reservoir Road was reduced to one lane for a short period of time.
