New year, new focus
Psalms 55:22 NKJV – "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He Shall sustain you, He shall never permit the righteous to be moved."
We just went through a pretty hard year, and in the natural, this one is not starting out much better. But if we will trust in the Lord and His Word, we will see things much differently. God's Word promises to sustain us, us being those who love the Lord. We can choose to look at things through our own eyes, or we can see things through God's promises.
As we look around, we see man trying to overcome things better left for God. We have disease, civil unrest, politicians battling politicians, and even Christians fighting Christians. Instead of chasing after this plan or that solution, it is time we turn to God for the answers. Man's solutions are temporal, God's solutions are eternal.
Isaiah 55:6-7 NKJV – "Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his ways, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, For He will abundantly pardon."
We can see what a mess mankind is making of the world, when we try to be in control. Our wisdom and knowledge pales in comparison to God's. So why don't we just let God have His perfect will for us and for the world. We see what man's ambition is doing to our country. America is being torn about because man thinks he knows what is best, but our country wasn't founded on man's wisdom but on God's. Everyone thinks they have the answer, but the results are short lived.
Matthew 5:14-16 NKJV – "You are the light of the world, a city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
We as Christians need to start standing up as Christians. It is not important that we be recognized as individuals, but as children of God, glory be to God. Our actions should be dictated by God's Word, not by our feelings. We as Christians should BOLDLY stand up and proclaim God's Word. It is time we quit hiding the fact that we are followers of Jesus Christ. Let the world know we get our standards from the scriptures. What the Bible says is right is right. If we Christians will all stand up, and profess our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and trust in the power of God, we will see our nation turn back to Jesus. We as Christians need to stop fighting each other and start standing against the enemy.
Galatians 6:9-10 NKJV – "And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith."
We see so much injustice in the world. So many people being mistreated. We as Christians need to be so much more involved in solving these problems, instead of sitting back and complaining about them. There are people going hungry, lacking warm clothing, sleeping on the streets. None of us can solve these problems alone, we need each other. It is time we stop waiting on the government. I don't care what church you attend, if you believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, then it is time for you to say so.
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV – "For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
I know as Christians we can be certain of our eternity. I believe Jesus is coming soon, but until that day, you and I have work to do. Go into all the world and preach the Gospel. Be the light of the world, be that example for Christ. Let's stand together, stop fighting, we serve the same God. We will be spending eternity together, let's start working together now. If we work together, we can take back our country for Christ. ONE NATION UNDER GOD.
